I am wondering what you all were doing on that frightful day, Tuesday, September 11, 2001? I was at work as a security officer at a local retail mall and when the news started coming in, all I remember was hearing this, "World Trade Center, Plane, Accident." When I went into the mall management office, all became a lot more clearer. At first, it appeared like an accident until I saw the television and said to others around me, "Look, another plane is headed for the second tower!" Then I saw at the bottom of the televisions screen in the mall manager's office and it showed the news about the Pentagon. All I could remember saying at that time was, "They are trying to destroy us! They are taking us out!" Then I went into security officer mode and began to assist my officer's out in the field. I was actually assistant director of security at Lenox Square Mall in Atlanta, Georgia. Have a great day and God Bless You all!

I remember that day well. It was a clear pretty day just like today was, and I was working in a warehouse in Saraland, Alabama. We don't have a radio or nothing like that, but that particular day, the supervisor over us came out of the office with a small radio to where we were working and I heard the announcer talking about how this particular plane went right into the Pentagon. It reminded me of the time when that plane leaving out of D.C. crashed onto the 14th Street Bridge that time. Well, when they spoke of a similar situation in New York at the World Trade Center and I was like, What is going on? then they spoke of the plane in Pa, and I was like, something serious is going on in this country. I had a sister that worked for the FDIC in Washington D.C., and my eldest brother (her twin)was driving taxis all over NYC, and it just bothered me that he or she could be in harms way, and each time I had a break, I called home and my mom and dad was talking about the plane. My father said that plane deliberately went into the building. I had to agree with him. Eventually, I got ahold of my sister in D.C.(she has since passed away in '03)and she was alright. My brother eventually called and said he was alright. I had a cousin of mine to work in one of the buildings and she was catching a cab there and when she heard the news, she turned right back around. She ended up taking retirement from the State of New York. I knew I had some family working in that building but I didn't know who. I just knew. When the govt closed the borders, I knew something was really wrong. I think we lost a bit of ourselves to be invisible and innocent.
