The Buckingham Fountain is one of Chicago's favorite attractions. The fountain is beautiful, but I couldn't figure out what the draw was to this fountain. I know its the largest fountain in the world, I know it has history and has been around for a long time, but until this day, I didn't understand why anyone would come to Chicago and visit this particular site. I watched the people looking at the fountain in amazement. It is quite beautiful when the water display is in full force. Apparently, every hour the fountain produces a major water display, for about 20 minutes. We were visiting during the day, but I hear that there is a light display at night. If you get tired of looking at this great landmark in Chicago, you can look over to the east and watch the sailboats, gaze at the blue waters of Lake Michigan or turn to the west and view the skyline of Chicago. This area has more to offer, than the fountain alone. There is a cafe on each side of the fountain for refreshments and what a beautiful place this would be to enjoy your lunch hour. The next time you plan to visit Chicago, put aside an hour or so to enjoy this popular attraction.

I have lived in Chicago my entire life- I love that area! The fountain is ok I guess maybe I'm too used to it- but the restaurants are amazing and so is the shopping and museums down there! Good vibe in that area too! Love my home!
