Has anyone else know a male with Lupus?

My father passed away from complications due to Lupus just over a year ago. I am not sure that he received the best care, because I do not believe that the doctors in our area had enough experience to treat him. They were the only option. They were not even readily accepting of the fact that he had Lupus, and we were told that this desease happened in women, and that it was not hereditary. Both of these we have found to be incorrect. It is sad that we do not have much information regarding men and Lupus. I was wondering if anyone else had this experience with their father, or as a male.
