Do you think it is better to have a global language?

I agree to it. If there is a global language, at least it is easier to communicate with each other from all over the world. Now it seems that English is becoming to a global language.

global language? i dont know.i think language is just for communication,if you need it,you can learn it,but if you dont have to touch things about language,i dont think it's necessary to learn another one. english is becoming more and more important these days, but as for me,it's still a second language,i dont want it to be official language,we still need translators, that is a job,if everyone knows english,i guess some people will lose their jobs...

Hi youless! Yes, I do agree with you that it is better to have a global language so that it will be more easier for each and everyone of us to understand each other better. Communication will bridge the gap of any cultural differences because of the understanding that we can achieve if we can communicate easily. And I do notice that English language is becoming the universal language. I just hope that with this tool we can achieve a better understanding and respect for each others' cultures without a tinge of discrimination of how we speak the language. Take care and have a nice day.

Hi Youless, and yes, life will be easier for most of us if we had a language like the esperanto, that was a 2nd language in every country of the world. And I am so sorry that it never became what it was supposed to be - a language for everyone and everywhere. This way no country will feel less than an other because the language pertains to no one but to everyone too, it has no country, no flag, - the perfect choice all in all according to me. What do you all think?

It is no doubt the Esperanto is also an important language. Nowadays more people learn English and therefore learning one more different foreign language is an advantage.

Yes, it would be nice if we were all able to speak to anyone in the world without the problem of having different languages. But it's also nice to walk around in a city like Buenos Aires, that is full of tourists, and hear people talking in so many different languages! I don't know... it's also really funny when two people who speak different languages try to communicate. But as someone said before, if we were to have a global language, I would like it to be a new one. I love my language (Spanish) and the languages that I've learnt (English) and that I'm learning (Italian) but it would be unfair that some people just keep their language while the rest of the world has to learn a new one.
