I was working with a student setting up work experience today and we were talking about my first job. I didn't work until I graduated high school because my parents didn't want anything distracting me from school. My first job was at The Bay (department store) the summer before university. I liked it and the people there. What was your first job? How old were you? Did you like it or hate it?

I worked during university. Had to pay tuition somehow. It was hard to balance at first with the work load from school and the hours at work. It all worked out in the end though. Sounds like it worked for you too!

My first job was at the a school construction in NYC. I was in 12th grade when I start. I enjoyed it but I wasn't that responsible b/c well I took the job for the extra money. But I still wanted to be a teenager and having fun. But I had a great director, and co workers at that job. And I learned a lot of skills which I have improved since then.

That sounds like a really interesting job for a first job. It's always nice to be able to enhance skills that you learned from one job to another. Thanks for the response.
