Breaking off a chatmate

It was probably stupid of me to accept chatting with a stranger online. But I had to stop it when he started to talk about wanting to have a relationship, flirting, more than flirting and eventually pestering me about opening my webcam to him. I use my webcam only to communicate with family who are far off and he couldn't understand it. So now, I'm "hiding" from him. Currently, I've put myself on being "permanently invisible" to him on my Yahoo messenger but I would like to block him. I would also like to block him in Friendster. But if I do these things, would he know that I blocked him?

I would block him and I wouldn't care if he knew that I done it. He must be a threat or a prevert to continue to harass you like this. Stop him now!

i know how you feel. i have a chatmate as well and i have been hiding from him by putting my status permananently offline to him but i think there are tools now that can track that. with regards to my friendster account, i have deleted my original profile in friendster just to get rid of him. and also, probably you can make a new YM account that is just for your family and close friends. and usually, when i go online to YM, i always put my status as invisible and just PM my friends (whom i'd like to chat with) so that they will know that i'm online.
