I have seen that many sites which offer incentives for filling out surveys or reading mails and adds are asking for Tax info that includes your social Security number before they would pay you. Do you think it is safe? Has anyone done that yet? Please advise me!!

I personally do not give out my social security number. I think that keeping track of my money is my business. I also understand that each state has different tax laws. Here in Maryland I can earn up to $600 a year without having to pay tax. With all the identity theft I think we need to be safe. I signed up for one point site and they ask for your social security only when you cash out. Since I do not think I will be doing that site any more I do not have to wory. Some say that Gather.com asks for a social security number but I have not seen that. I do not sign up for any site that requires my social security number. I think that it is a personal preference though. I am sure that there are some people who will take the risk to make big bucks. However, I found the promise of fast money never works out. My advice is think very carefully before you give anyone or site your social security number. The site could have great security and be perfectly fine but can you really take that chance. Well good luck.

Hi, sizzle3000! I started working on these sites only a few days ago. I dont even think you can make big bucks. Its just not safe to give out you SSN and then cry later for identity theft. Well there is a possibility of that. Lets see what others think.

SSN number needs to be given if you are earning more than 600$ from one source. This is to fill the tax forms(W-110 or something of that name) as per the rules of US states. If it is a very reliable and trusted site, I will give SSN. Again, for getting royalty payments, SSN needs to be given. Else I may not.

I will never give my SS# to any of those sites under any circumstances. I would advise you to just steer clear of those offers.

NEVER give out your SSN. Whatever they are promising, is definitely not worth it. They don't need that for any reason at all. I'm not sure about the tax info. I think if your winnings are large enough on certain sites, to cash you you need to fill out a certain form. In this case, giving the info is ok.
