He ventured across the seven seas, to fight some unknown foe, leaving his beloved back here, with a broken heart and a tale of woe. She waited hoping for him to return, from spring when the sweet roses bloom, right till the end of snowy winter, when the world's covered in white gloom. Though he never came back, her eyes still eagerly scoured the way, and the seasons just flew by, till that fateful day in starry May. For back he came that day, to lie in his grassy grave, neat and new, and they buried her alongside him too, where they now lie sleeping, for the ages through. *Inspired by a poem by Robert Service*
