Cooler weather and cooking.

With the weather turning cooler and autumn is upon us, I have been in a cooking mood. I have been making soups and chilies, pies and cookies! It is crazy! I always get this way, it seems that in the summer it is most times too hot to use the stove and oven and we tend to grill outside a lot. But, now that the oven and stove won't turn my kitchen into a furnace, I have been very busy! Both, last weekend and this weekend I have made stew and bread and some pies. Is it any wonder that we seem to gain weight in the winter here in my house? Is anyone else like this? Kind of a seasonal cooker? When the weather turns we turn into cooking machines in my house!

I cook and bake more in the cooler months also. Part of the reason is because we seem to be home more once school starts. I love to make soups and stews in the winter. There is just something so cozy about a hot bowl of chili.

I agree with you there! I love a hot bowl of chili or stew when it is cold outside. It helps to warm you up on the inside!

I know how it is to be motivated by the cooler weather. I do cook alot in the autumn and wintertime. I am making chocolate zuchinni bread tomorrow. Time to fill the freezer.

I have never tried chocolate zucchini bread, I might have to give that a try. I love to make zucchini and pumpkin bread, and banana bread.
