Being Totally Mislead by a Rebate

Well, recently I've started working in a call center that deals strictly with rebates and man-oh-man do I hear some angry people over the phone on a daily basis! A lot of the people I talk with say that they purchased the product only because the rebate sounded amazing, only to be denied of it later on.
Have you ever recieved a rebate? What purchase did you make and how much was the rebate for? What company? Share your rebate experiences here!

well Rebate and discount are the offers which attracts many people towards the product and its the normal psychology of many people.And no wonder you are hearing the shouts of many people as there feelings are hurt.I never go for a purchase as its offering discount or rebate.I only look for the quality.All the best for your career.

I am so mad about rebates..I bought a cell phone with a rebate of $50.00,well i had all the paper work on a sheet..They give you a sheet of paper when you buy a new cell phone..The cingular told us just what to send in,well i did as he said...A month later ,they sent me a paper saying they wanted the store reciept..Well Duh it was on the paper that they gave me...I just forgot it,it was more trouble to fight them than just to forget it..Everything was on that one sheet,what we paid and what the rebate was,the paper was the reciept...
