What is the use of the tag in My lot?

As iam new to this one i have a simple question..after i responce some one or i make anew discussion it is asking for Tag.What is actually tag is and what is the use of it?

A tag is a way for people to find discussions on mylot. Like say I want to look for discussions about dogs. I would type in dogs and search mylot. It will give me a list of pictures, discussions, and websites I can look through. It just hepls organize.

Correct. If you dont put tags with your discussions you wont find them in search. Makes it harder for others to respond to them as well

It is to categorize the topics, to put it on their respective interests.
Mylotians old and new members, whould atleast put tags on the posts they make. Whether started discussion or replied to, to atleast clssify the what the post is all about.

My dout is that will mylot can categeorize the responced topics also? if so i will certainly use the tags from now on words.Thank you
