songs taking on a new meaning?

Have you ever listen to a song and after some event in your life, its taken on a whole new meaning for you? I have a few songs that, that has happened to. When my daughter was born, just after she emerged, on the radio I had in the room, Guns n roses sweet child o mine came on so I always associate that song with her birth and it reminds me of all those emotions crashing together at the sight of her. I also had it happen to innocent eyes by delta goodrem after I lost a child through miscarriage. I think its amazing that songs can come to mean so much and capture our emotions so perfectly at that one moment in time. How about you guys? this ever happen to you?

well.. i havent really experienced something like this. but some songs sometimes make me realize something in me which i really dont know or which i doesnt really bother to know or something i just ignore or deny. this is embarassing but one example would be "way back into love", a soundtrack from music and lyrics the movie. the title says everything about the song and when i heard it i just felt like it was talking about me. ^__^;; i have never had a bf for a long time, the last one i got was back in college, and i keep telling myself and other people that i dont really need a bf right now and im happy being single. the song made me realized that deep inside, i'd be much happier if i can find someone to brighten up my day. ^__^;;

Hey there and thanks for replying! I dont think you should be embarrassed at all. Some songs mean a whole lot to us and even if they dont mean much to anyone else, it doesnt mean you should get all embarrassed about it lol. I really hope you find the one your looking for!

LOL

Yes, it has happened to me lots of times. But most recently it has happened to me with an episode of The Simpsons. I must have watched it thousands of times and it took a completely different meaning some months ago. It's the one in which Homer goes under heart surgery. It was weird because my dad was with me and he has had some heart problems lately and he also went under surgery. It was so strange. It was not so funny anymore, but I understood the situation much better then. I don't know, I'm still shocked to see how much things change when watching them from a different point of view...

Of course, it's happen to me a lot! Especially when I fall in love and listen for love songs. I remember after I fall in love in one lady, I heard the song "I don't want to miss a thing" and this song take a whole new meaning for me. I really like this song and when I was in love, it also took a new and wonderful meaning for me. I agree with you so, and I think music can affect a lot on my, and every person life's. Every body has the type of music he loves, and whenever he listen for this certain type of music or song, he starts to feel much better, in particular after an important event that happened to him. Yes,I agree with you so much,I fall in love with some musicians just because their songs made me feel diffirent,they made me happy when I was disappointing ,and give me power when I feel helpless, and sometimes you can learn a lot from a song .

It totally has. When my husband, then boyfriend, got a job in another town and was going to be 2hrs away I heard the song Come What May from the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. I had liked the song before but with him leaving and the relationship changing it took on a whole new meaning for us. It actually was our wedding song too.

I have to say that I've heard the album "The Road to Escondido" so much, and now I always think of all the happy things that has happened to me. by the way, that album is one of those you have to listen to for a while, and it will grow better for everytime you hear it.

actually every time you here a song it would take on a different meaning, you are actually being observant and learning in a metaphysical way, so yes, everything changes, even the same song could take on a new meaning everyday and its good you see that.
