overcrowded buses - hectic journey
Here most of the buses are operated by the government..its not free but they provide it in concession rates for school and college students..iam working in a place that needs 45 minutes of travel by bus from my home..it cost Rs.8/- per day or 0.27 cents..we do have airbuses which are double the rate than the normal fares which i have stated above..its convenient and when i dont get those ordinary buses i commute through that.. Its a hectic way of travelling in buses in my city.being a metro city its crowded all time and we face difficulty of travelling in buses..one can never see buses here without people travelling in footboard in all peak hours..

I never travel by bus. In my city buses are known as killer buses. In this year 95 people have been killed by these buses. I always travel by the car. For short distances, I use cycle-rickshaw.

I go to work everyday, my bus ticket is Php13. The buses here in our country are different, you pay your fare thru a "kondoktor" i dont know if this applies as well to other countries.. Anyway, sometimes when i give the "kondoktor" a 20 bill, he gives me a 15p ticket.. so i prepare the 13p change before i get in to the bus. :D

I live in a rural area in Australia, and for the 10kilometre drive from my local shopping centre into the more urban area, it costs about $2.40AU one way. It's pretty darn expensive, and that is only for students! In cities like Sydney and Melbourne, the rates are much cheaper, though.

In my city people in the age of less than 5 and more than 60 don't pay for tickets. Normal ticket costs $0.88. There are two discounts: 50% for university students and 48% for other students (tsk, two per cent of difference makes me laugh xD). So I would %0.44 for my bus ticket... but I don't I pay ticket for 90 days, that let me use any bus I want every hour I want for 90 and it costs $30.43 :D
