When is enough really enough? How do you avoid spoiling your child? What's the borderline between giving your child what he/she wants and spoiling them rotten?

I have 3 spoiled kids. Which if you ask my granmother-inlaw they're not spoiled. I have always heard that grandparents are suppose to spoil their grand children. My parents don't spoil them, they don't even see them. My grandmother-inlaw is the only one that sees them (which she lives with us)spoils them also. You know when their spoiled when you walk into a store and they start putting stuff they want into the cart, or saying "I want this" then going to something else and saying "I want this too" Age is also a facture in this. Like I have 8 year old that does this. Which is common to a certain point. If you say no and they throw a fit then you have a problem on your hands. I have a problem with spoling my kids, since my parents won't do it I'll do for them. But when it comes down to Christmas and they ask what she'll I get them. You better believe it's not going to be a present better than mine.

i guess your kids have a good set of grandparents, then. my eldest daughter sees my mom and dad like a cash machine as they literally buy every single thing she points out at the mall...lol.

spoiling your child is when you give them EVERYTHING that they possibly want out of guilt or whatever issue you have. i was an only child but i wasnt spoiled (although my hubby would disagree with that statement!!) i didnt get everything i wanted, sure i got a lot, but i was an only child (no one else to give presents to at christmas time)but i dont think i was really super spoiled.
