Should Celebrities be Role Models?

Recently there were some high profile celebrities being arrested and thrown into the jail, or drug rehad, or nude pics being disclosed. Paris, Lindsay, Britney, and Vanessa (High Five).
These young (and too rich) celebrities are setting a bad example for the thousands of fans and impressionable kids when they should be a role model to them.
As a public figure, they have a different responsibility from us, normal people and their actions are being scrutinized by the media in minute details.
What do you think of putting public expectations and responsibilities on these young shoulders?

Yes celebrities should try to be role models, they aren't famous or known for nothing and so they should do something about their lives or the way they live because there are people who look up to them and there are people who get disappointed when they do some things that aren't good.
When thinking of a having a career in Hollywood, these people should also think how they're being there can impact on society, and what good they can do to/for other people and not only consider themselves as actors.

I can't agree with you more, with fame and fortunate comes heavy responsibilities. This is especially so if the celebrity has a legion of young fans.
They are public figure and should be responsible for their actions which will have huge impact on society and the actions of their fans.

I dunno it just irks me that some of them are kind of wasting their talents (and lives) away. Look at Lindsay Lohan. Look at Britney Spears! How ever can she have sunk so low...
i can only sigh and shake my head at them. I'll just wish them happiness for now. *sigh*
