Is using the gym good for a small period of time ?

I have started going to the gym and doing regular work out, but my membership is only for six months. Will I put on weight and flab once I quit or will I throughout my life have to go to the gym. Pls help.

Much better if you do your exercise at home. Going to gym and exercising at home is the same. You will still get the same benefits from the two options. I used to exercise at home such as jogging for how many kilometers in the street. Have a nice day and God speed!

Hello ketybhagat, I think it will depend on what you will do after your you stop going to the gym after a small period of time if you will put on weight and flabs. You can maintain your weight even if your not in the gym. If you don't have equipments at home you can do regular push-ups, sit-ups, etc.. and jogging. I am sure your going to the gym have taught you some ways of exercises that you can do at home. Diet, you have to maintain a healthy balance diet of course if you don't want to put on weight and flab. I have gone for membership several times before. I would go on regular workout for a couple of months then stop. The last one I lasted for a year doing workouts before I stop, that was almost 8 years ago. I did not put on much weight and flab. But I try to maintain it though regular excercise and playing sports. :-)

Hi there. I dont think you will gain weight if you dont let yourself, there are plenty of other options, to keep fit and healthy, walking, jogging, filling empty bottles up and lefting them as weights, theres kick boxing and punching you can do all these without a membership and cost to yourself... Its not that u will start putting on weight as soon as leave ur gym.. If u do regular workout at the gym for 6 mnths like u r saying, then after leaving it, u will always feel the urge to exercise while u r at home.. So, u just need to watch ur diet as u had been taking while u were gyming and do exercise and then u will not put on weight...
