I've been barred from Mylot!!!!!!!

my son tries to stay up and play his ps2 ....he's stayed up pretty late when there's no school and I dont have a big problem with it, but trying to wake him up for school is a nightmare so he's been banned "for life" from his ps2 during the week and only plays on weekends. I'm guessing maybe waking you up might be part of the problem, kinda like trying to wake up a bear from hibernation.

Aww sweety I have to upset you here by coming in from a Mums position here! I have 2 kids and the eldest is a boy of 14 who really wanted to be on mylot but I wouldn't let him lie about his age and the guidelines clearly state that you have to be 16 to be a member! Anyway enough about me, lets get to the situation with you and your Mum - I can totally understand why she banned you for a week - at 16 you are obviously in a very important time at school and you really need your sleep or you can't concentrate properly! Another couple of bits of advice sweety - if your Mum finds out you are using mylot at school she may extend the ban and if school catch you accessing mylot from there they may not be best pleased either! Try being really nice to your Mum, telling her that you toatally understand why she barred you from using it and that you won't stay up so late again , specially n a school night , maybe if she sees that you are being so mature she will lift the ban on you! well, i'm sorry to say that your mum is right to punish you as you are still a schoolage boy and you are not allowed to stay awake until that late... even i never stay up until that late just for the sake of mylot because i know i have to go to work the next day... i hope you learn your lesson and don't repeat it again... you have to learn to have a good self-discipline and tell yourself to stop sitting in front of the computer when it comes to sleeping time...

Mylot is clean place. Parents do not have to worry so much. They can keep a watch on their children. I don't think that mylot will allow any bad things to happen. I feel, mylot is safe as long as you are careful with what you are doing.

lol i dont even get whats the point of barring u to mylot..maybe its the addiction of focusing too much on the internet and not just the mylot itself. am i right.... so that ur mum will be convinced that u can still get a good grades despite ur internet activity, study hard also so that she will trust u...i think any parents will do that as their way for expressing concern for their child and for their child's own good. they wouldnt want their child to become tooo addicted and forget studies all together..still schooling is a number one priority. we cant exactly depend on mylot to earn forever since as we already see, that earning here is very dragging and slow going and thus requires hard work. right?

Parents can be like that sometimes. I remember I would read really late at night when I was a kid, and my mom would get mad at me. She wasn't mad I was reading, she just didn't want me to be tired at school the next day. I suppose there's always a good reason behind things that seem insane to you.

Well, it was probably because you were up till 3am, I guess. If I caught my teenage daughter on the PC at 3am, especially if she had school the next day, I would probably ground her too. It's for your own good, you need to sleep as you are still growing up. All I can say is be patient for now. Be a good child and obey your mom. It wouldn't hurt that much anyway if you missed a few days. You can catch up all you like as soon as you get back. Poor you. I think your mom would not want you up all night when you have to be at school next day. She will be worried you will be tired at school. You need sleep as much as Mylot so try to behave as I guess after this week you will be on probation.

If i am your mother... i would go berzerk if i find you mylotting instead of studying, doing homework, or sleeping at that time...just don't let it happen again... it is important for kids your age to get enough sleep so that you will get taller and more handsome that you already are...

Sorry you are in the slammer but you shouldn't be up at 3 am! When you come back show her how responsible you are and go to bed at a reasonable hour...We will miss you for the week, but you need to take the punishment and learn from it.

Honestly, I think it's because you are siding with the Daleks. Just my opinion. *chuckles* Seriously though, if you are in school, there is absolutely no reason for you to be up beyond midnight. You do truly need to get in 7-8 hours of quality sleep a night. Not just for school, but just for your overall health. It's not good to be sitting at a computer screen for hours at end. Take the week to get back on the good side of your mom. We will still be here when you get back. And if you are still itching for MyLot, then limit yourself to answering just 5 topics a night. I guess it depends how old you are. If you are at school and on the computer at 3am then it sounds like you need to discipline yourself. I usually stay up until 11pm, and then i force myself to get off the computer and then i read before going to sleep.
