when you've done something wrong...why is it that you're too eager to change?

I mean..before I don't care anymore of my grades. I care but not that much already. Now that I care I want everything to be perfect but sadly it's really difficult to make your life perfect. I mean things just don't fall into place. Now my wrong is that, I didn't do my best before and now that I want things to change...I get hot-tempered whenever things don't go my way...what do I need to do?
