hello there..i just wanted to let everyone that has cell phones know the bad news..Time is running out for your cell phone's protection against telemarketers. As of next year, millions of personal telephone numbers will no longer be on the "Do Not Call List." The national registry began in June 2003 and, according to the rules, can only guard you for five years. When the time is up, telemarketers can start calling. However, customers may re-register their numbers, either by phone or online. If you need the information on how to block them again i have that for you as well:) Have a good one!! To register your phone number on the National Do Not Call List you can call 1-888-382-1222 or visit www.donotcall.gov.

Thanks for providing that information to us, I'm sure that I'm not the only one who appreciates that! Luckily my cell phone has the call display and I will not be answering to any numbers that I don't know. Thanks for the warning!!

Remember if you get hold of a company , this will give them a right to contact you even if you are on the do not call list. You have to let them know that it is no OK to call you, sometimes these companies have other companies that work with them and you might get a call from one or more of these "sister companies" . You have to make sure to let them know that it is not OK to call you. I just put my land phone and cell phone numbers on the do not call list so I should be protected for another 5 ears.

Thank you so much for this information and for the link. I re registered as we have new cell phone numbers. It's bad enough they still find ways to go around the system and they still bother us at home, but a lot of people can barely afford to have the cell phone and then get their time/minutes used up by telemarketers. It is one of my pet peeves, the way I look at it is IF I want to know more about what offers a company has, I will contact them, I don't need my credit card company or anyone else for that matter to call/contact me trying to sell me on something that I have absolutely no use for, they waste my time and they are extremely bothersome. Again, thank you so much for posting this information.

I've already been getting telemarketer calls on my cell, who knows how they got my number! Thanks for the link, I'm going to go there as soon as I post this. This is what REALLY makes me mad, has it ever happened to anyone else here...a telemarketer calls and when I answer it's a recording telling me to please hold for an important call!! It's bad enough to be put on hold when you WANT to speak to someone but for a telemarketer??? I don't think so!!! Annie

Thanks for the do not call list phone number. This will especially helpful for those of us that have prepaid cell phones and don't want our minutes wasted on calls we don't want.
