back when Christopher columbus "discovered" america he called the natives, indians and took over their land. think you can tell me why the settlers fought with the "indians" and why the governers didnt want conflict with them.

when christopher columbus set off from britain, he was headed for india. india was then the most popular country to be the good source of various types of condiments and spices which has become truly in demand among the more affluent populace in the influential countries of the world during those early years. so when christopher columbus landed in the americas, he never wished for a battle. he came over in order to trade. since it was for business that they had gone for in an area which they thought to be india battling with the natives was so far away from their minds, consequently, they called the natives 'indians'.
