Halloween Candy

When I was younger my mom always checked my Halloween candy to be sure none of it was opened before I ate it. Do people still check their children's candy for them? How old do your children have to be to check it themselves?

My daughter is 13 and I still will check her candy. Kids aren't as thorough as us parents and it is always safe to check and double check. In today's society it is very good to check even though our kids check it themselves.
