I think that is so funny. Considering how skimpy the outfits are, the girls are supposed to "distract" the other team. Then again they could distract their own team. I remember when the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders were considered the "class" of all the cheerleaders. Now they are about like the others. Of course we have our own fans leading the cheers. As Middle Linebacker Demeco Ryans said about the fans- Home field advantage.

I guess it is a good rule. But there is one thing, it is assuming that the players are listening to the coaches in the first place.I wonder how many players even saw the cheerleaders. With XBox and cell phones and pre game interviews , the home team don't need to use the cheerleaders. The players can already be either focused or distracted.

You should watch Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders on CMT. You'll see they go through a lot more work than most think. And, as far as Dallas goes, you have to have a knowledge of the team and the team's history to make the squad. It's part of auditions. And in reality, don't all of the football players just want attention too? Don't they all want to score the touchdown or make the big play to get recognition? Life is all about drawing attention to yourself. Football players love football and want to be well known for it. Cheerleaders love cheering and want attention for it. Just because cheering isn't considered a sport by most doesn't change the reason people want to do it. All sports players do it for the attention when you get right down to it.

This rule sucks, Thats the point in having cheerleaders to keep the opposing team off their game!
