Anybody making a decent income blogging or know someone who is?

I was wondering if anyone is making money blogging or know someone who is making money blogging.I know that if you add Google to your page and if you can write good blogs people want to read then you can also possibly get clicks on your google ads.Also i know adsense,adbrite and Amazon can also make you money if their ads are put on your blog.But I heard one of the ad sites you cant put on your blog with google because it is kind of like competition between the two.Not sure which one though.I have read about people making money blogging and the blog was basically a hobby for them.But I am sure it can take alot of work and alot of linking with other peoples blogs.I have also read where one person(not from this site)makes almost 6,000 a month blogging.I would like to make that much but I know for right now I would probably start out slow with earning .I would like to know if anybody is makig money blogging and also if you can give me some tips on how to get traffic to a blog.?
