How many books do you get out at the library at a time? How many do you think is too much to take out at a time? What's the most you've ever taken out at a time? I love going to the library, but I have a habit of taking out 20 books or more at a time.

Usually when I got to the library I just get out 2 or 3. Any more than that then I know I will never finish them, so why bother? When I was in school doing reports I would probably take out maybe up to 10. But honestly, I'm to scared I'd lose one and have to pay for it.

Oh thank you for this discussion while I really like to go to the library.I just love to go there and see all those books and I wish I could take them all.Sometimes I just borrow too much and don't have time to read them all, but that is not problem I would just extend it for a little bit longer.I think the biggest number of mine was 7.I wish sometimes I could read faster and suck all those knowledge to my head. Right now I am living in city where the library is too far from me, so I just don't go to any. What a shame!I just miss it too much. But at least I have still many books at my house, what I didn't read.

I confess. I don't use the library as much as I should. I am a book-a-holic and a bit of a book hoarder. I can never have too many books. Even when I travel, like right now, I bring wayyyy too many books with me, and am still drawn to Barnes & Noble and used book stores. I don't know why, I just like the comfort of knowing I can go back to a book I particularly enjoy if I ever need to. Even though I will never read all the books I have in my lifetime!

Well, we are not supposed to borrow as many books as you do, two or three is quite many. I seldom go and borrow books from the school library unless I need some for reference. I used to borrow novels to read, but that was many years ago before I had my computer.

In my library, you can take out 50 books or CDs or anything at a time. I often came up to my limit, because I borrowed some CDs, some audiobooks, many reference-books (because I almost always work at several projects at a time in university) and a bunch of novels (about 15).

Although my library doesn't have a limit on books checked out and limits the length of time to 3 weeks checked out, I usually use 1 week as my rule of thumb for getting books. What I mean by this is that I will check out books so that I have about a weeks worth of reading. Depending on the size and type of book for pleasure reading, this could be from one to six books. If I'm doing some type of research project where I only looking for a small tidbit in multilpe books, I might check out a dozen or more at a time (still thinking of what I would use in a week). I would guess the most I have ever checked out is probably around 30.

I do not even feel that it is appropriate to mention books and too much in the same sentence. There is just no such thing. I went to my library the other day to take a break from buying books for a while, since for the most part, I can only read them once. I was very sad when I went to check out and found out that I could only take two books because my card had expired and I had no other form of identification on me. Where I live, the library card expires every two years. Not only that, the card is made to fit on your keyring. Now if only I could keep my I.d's there.
