I recently found something really cool, and I thought I would share it with everyone here. If you live in the US (I think this is US only, but I could be wrong) and you'd like to plant some trees, check out The Arbor Day Foundation. By becoming a member ($10) you can get 10 trees free, and discounts on future tree/shrub purchases! There are several different packages to choose from, and they'll help you choose the one that's right for your part of the country. Now, the trees you'll receive will be just little saplings, but their health is guaranteed. And since this is the Arbor Day Foundation, there's also plenty of resources on the website for caring for your new baby trees. So, if you're interested, just check out this link: http://www.arborday.org/shopping/memberships/memberships.cfm

We've done this several times, but have had no luck whatsoever. One time, the trees came and sat on our porch in the middle of a unexpected snow storm. I didn't know what to do. We brought the trees inside, where they molded before we could plant them. They did come green and even had a few little green sprigs on them. I think I'll give this another try. Thanks for the link.

When we got our welcome packet, it had a little info about what to do if you can't plant your trees right away... maybe if that happens again, you can save them this time!

Yes, I am aware of this program. It is a worthy program and very helpful for people who wish to plant trees in their yard.
