There are probably some Bill O'Reilly fans on myLot as well as some casual listeners who may have heard his recent radio show where he made some pretty blatantly racist remarks. He told of having recently had dinner with Al Sharpton at a Harlem restaurant and how surprised he was that this was "just like an ordinary restaurant" and that he didn't hear things like "bring me a MF iced tea". Now, after having been called on it he's blaming the media, particularly certain networks for smearing him and he's even threatened to go "where you live" to those he feels have unjustly attacked him. Any thoughts? Myself, I think Bill O' is losing it and he kind of reminds me of that paranoid captain in Caine Mutiny. Annie

Hello Anniepa, I have to admit that I'm pretty disappointed. I had hoped that someone like you, who is so impassioned about politics, would have had the integrity to fact check your accusations before publicly declaring them at truth. O'Reilly & Juan Williams are both deserving of grovelling apologies for these baseless, cooked-up charges. Shame on those who spread the lies!

I'm sorry I disappointed you, Ladyluna, really I am! And I am impassioned about politics, you got me right there, but don't you admit that what was played all over the airwaves did sound pretty bad for Bill O'? Since I started this discussion I've heard the rest of the segment and it doesn't really change much, in my opinion. He seemed to be "baiting" people, daring them to make a big deal over his remarks and he got his way. Annie

I am not an O'Reilly fan, anniepa, but I have heard of the recent flap over the remarks he made, then tried to back-peddle out of. Personally, I think that all of the right wing talking heads are so busy trying to outdo each other they have lost sight of the important issues in our society. They all go too far in my opinion.
