Holiday chalet - Haven

I booked a sun holiday for weekend to Hastings, we didnt upgrade because it was only me and husband and was going to be out. When we got there the chalet kitchen floor was absolutely filthy and looked like urine on the floor. Went to Reception and the lady apologised and sent cleaner. When we went back the floor had been cleaned but the smell and stains everywhere and dining table was so sticky, I just couldnt stay there. I went back to reception to hand in key and club passes and told the girl I was going home. She asked if there was anything she could do and I said unless you can give me an upgrade no. I have written to Haven and they are saying that Im not entitled to my money back because she asked me if there was anything she can do, so in other words I was suppose to know that she was offering me alternative accommodation. I understand that I wouldnt get my accommodation money back but im arguing the electricity money and club passes that were used.
