Sponsorship/Donations Ideas Needed

I am trying to help out our local hockey team (non-profit organization with tax id #) with getting sponsorship and/or donations. Does anyone have any ideas. I have the teams letter on their letter head. We are located in Northern California, but play teams from California, Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, & Louisiana. Any ideas or help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I would start with all the local businesses, they are more likely to sponsor a team. Then I would mail a letter to every person I knew. Get each player to send out 3-5 letters to grandparents, aunts and uncles, you may pick up donations there. Set up an information table at area events and have a jar asking for donations, most people will put in something. Maybe at the same time have a bake sale donated by the players.
