Are Flying Rods real?

Are they real? I have seen on tv about this mysterious rods appearing in videos and still photos and not just that, they seem to be flying (thus, their name). What are they? Are they ufo's, creatures that flies near the speed of light or just a trick of light? What do you think about this?

I saw them on TV too...but its quite suspicious. I'm not sure if I'd like to believe them. But if they are real, then its a new interesting phenomenon. But anyway, I think this matter needs to be researched thoroughly.
