Have you ever got a ticket that was totally unfair?

About 1 1/2 years ago, my hubby and I were out and I was driving because he didn't have a license. Well, the plates on the car had expired the month before so we put a different month sticker on. We had also let the insurance go because we never drove that car. A sheriff had got behind us and ran the plates, even though I was doing nothing wrong, and pulled us over. My hubby tried to tell him that I knew nothing about the plates & insurance being expired but I'm a REALLY bad liar so I admitted that I knew about it. After about half an hour of waiting for him to run our names and all that crap, he comes back to the car and asked me why he would say that. I told him my record is completely spotless and he was just trying to keep me out of trouble. So the cop walks off and comes back a couple minutes later, looks at my hubby and says "Here's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna give you the ticket just so you don't get in even more trouble when you get home" and wrote my hubby a ticket for bogus plates. Now, the whole way home, I'm laughing hysterically because I'd never heard anything like that my whole life. He didn't find it funny though. Needless to say, we figured there was no way we could lose this one in court. After all, he wasn't driving! Well, we lost. Everyone says he got the ticket because the car was in his name. So?? You mean to tell me if it would've just been me in the car, they would've gone to our house to give him the ticket? Don't think so! So, what do you guys think?

Back in 1979 right after I had moved down to Virginia I got a ticket I know was unfair. This happened about a week after we had moved down. I had not had a chance to have things changed over. So I still had a Massachusetts license plate on my car. It was about 8pm and I was driving down a side street. I was looking for a new friends house. I had never been there before. So I was driving slowly trying to find the right house. All of a sudden I saw flashing blue lights. I pulled over. The cop was stopping me for speeding! When we went to court it was a case of what I said against what the cop said. And I lost. I had to pay a speeding ticket when if anything I might have been going too slow! I don't know. Sometimes I think they just need to meet some quota for how many tickets they write. And if they can't find anything, they will make something up.

Your right Isaiah, They do have quotas they have to fill, otherwise they look like they are just sitting around in their cruiser doing nothing but getting paid. I live in Illinois, and I know they have quotas here to fill at least. Did the cop show up to your court date as you did? Funny how when someone fails to show for court, the appearing party will win by default, but when a cop doesnt show up its still their word agaisnt yours! Bay xx

We were traveling to the east coast this summer and just had bought a new car. Well the car has one of the number speedometers, so you can actually know how fast you are going by the number. We kept the car about 2-3 miles over the speed limit and set the cruise control. I was driving and noticed a cop on the side of the road. He waved me over. Well, our problem was our son was laying down in the backseatand not in his booster seat. We thought for sure we would get in trouble for that. But we ended up getting a speeding ticket. The cop said I was going 81. I know I wasn't, because I had cruise control set. I told him I wasn't going that fast, but he wouldn't hear of it. I couldn't fight the ticket because it was two states away and I watch kids for a living. Very frustrating.

I tried to dispute a ticket once because the spot on the ticket that the officer fills in to say where the stop occured was incorrect. I think he just pulled me over because it was 2am I had a black guy in the car with me and he just wanted to see what we were up too. He followed us to where we lived, didnt hit the cherries til I stopped infront of our house. He must have followed us for about 3 blocks taking turns with us and everything. We had been to Wal-Mart, he had just got off work and I had to pick him up, so we went to get a frozen pizza on our way home. The cop was checking the whole car, had us sitting outside in front of our house with the lights on in the middle of January. He gave us both seat belt tickets because he had nothing else on us. I went to court to dispute the fact that the information on the ticket was invalid, and they said that didnt matter. I tried to ask why it didnt matter. The location must be important or there would not be a spot on the ticket for the officer to make note of where it happened. I lost and had to pay $75 bucks for not having a seat belt on. Yeah your story sounds kind of like mine, btu what can you do? Cops can do what they like when they like to who they like.... thats inevitable. Bay xx
