I became a member just a month ago and I think its the best way for me to be able to help our planet. I think we all have to be advocates to environmental development so that we will have a better life and be able to share this to the generations to come.

the membership is FREE. but you do have to pay monthly as your share in supporting the organization. anyway, they only need at least 5 pesos a day, meaning 150 pesos in a month. The method of paying is convenient, since you can choose to have it automatically credited in your credit card account or deducted from you savings account. once you are member, you will receive monthly newsletters about updates of the organization's activities and also new regarding the environment and tips to help save energy, water, etc. You will also be contacted if there will be activities which needs volunteers. you can visit this site http://www.greenpeace.org/seasia/en Hope that there will many of us joining this patriotic endeavor to save mother earth.

No problem. Just take your time but I do hope you will join us one of this days - its only 5pesos a day for mother earth. by the way, I think Greenpeace volunteers are going around the country campaigning for members. If they happen to be in your place, please don't hesitate to sign up. Online membership application takes longer time to process. It's better to apply in person. :)

I used to, but no longer am. I am no longer a member because I have found some of their positions off base or inconsistent, and I have researched for myself and some of their motivation is financial, not for "the good" they are speaking about. There are many smaller groups that are making a bigger difference that would appreciate your support or involvement. People are willing to give money to a large, uneiwldy and faceless organization where you are not really sure what your money goes towards rather than to people in their own town that are making a big difference on little money, and a little bit of money from you or more importantly your time would make a bigger impact.

I am not a member. I believe that as a Christian we should be stewards and care for the earth, but there is only so much we can do and what if, apart from picking up the trash, making sure we do not turn the air conditioner on when not needed, the thermostat up when not needed, and not throwing the door open in the middle of winter, as we say where I live, "heating all Winnipeg" there is a limit to what we can do. I do believe that the whales should be protected, oh and the porpoises which I heard are being killed by the Japanese for food. If we all were careful and not wasteful, life would be better, but from what I heard of Greenpeace's tactics, I would not be a member.
