I love dressing my daughter nice, and cute. But, Im a single mom and not working full time right now. I dont see any point in paying extra money, and sometimes LOTS of extra money for a name brand, in infant and toddler clothing. Do you agree or disagree with me, and why?

Walmart and Target is name brand enough for me, it is bad enough they grow so fast out of their clothes, but I am single mom and their dad is not paying child support.

I feel for you completely. Most of my clothing as well as my daughters comes from thrift stores or yard sales!!!

At the time being, I have a 4 month old foster brother. These little ones grow so fast, you do not want to spend a lot of money on clothing. Before you can snap your fingers they have grown out of it. Also, something without a very well known brand name can be awfully cute too :) I make most of my own clothes or my mom makes them. We get compliments on how fun, pretty, sturdy and original they are; they cost hardly nothing but material costs, time and effort. Never let a brand name guide you, just look at what YOU like in clothing. When you are not buying online, I suggest to just touch the fabric, look how well it's sown (have they used an overlocker or is it just a simple straight stitch? etc). Perhaps I'm going a bit far on this, but you can tell a lot about the quality of a product by simple observation. Hope that helps!

Nope, don't buy those expensive clothes for your infant, because those branded clothes are really expensive, so just save your money and keep it until she becasme a teenager.

I agree with you 110% Like the other people have said. I too frequent JC Penny. I bought my daughter a $64.00 snow suit and after all my discounts I got it for $17.00! I also got her a new outfit that was originally $14.00 and I paid $3.70 for it. Gotta love the %50 offs plus extra coupons. You have to plan it accordingly, but sometimes you can really luck out! Have you tried buying clothes in advance? Like when Toys R Us does inventory? You can get next year's clothes dirt cheap. I guess that could be difficult sometimes too because you don't know what size she'll be in.

it is true that infants grow faster and the cloth which fits this month wont even enter their head in the next month. So i usually buy cloths for them in walmart or target. But for occassions like festivals and on their birthday i used to buy cloths of higher prices.

I never bought the name brand stuff for my boys when they were little, they just grew too fast. I did however find some great bargins on brand named clothes at yard sales! So then they had the name brand stuff to wear LOL. I shopped at Wal-mart the most when I had to buy new stuff for my boys.

I buy all my babies clothes from the thrift store. I think it is stupid to spend money on clothes that she will only wear for 3 months. Used clothes don't mean that they aren't cute.

I buy my kids clothes at WalMart. I refuse to pay alot of money for childrens clothing. They are constantly staining them or growing out of them so fast. I dress my kids very cute, for a low price.

At some point i agree and disagree. If i can afford to buy branded clothe for my kid i will do so, because i am sure with the quality and will not bring rushes to my kid's skin. For the unbranded, i have to spend time to choose among those unbranded one and be more meticulous. So to compare, time consuming for the unbranded, high price for the branded one.

When it comes to my sons I want them to look just as nice and presentable as I do, so I will bear no expense when it comes to the clothes I purchase for them.

I agree, you dont have to dress her in brand name things in order to dress her cute!! They have so many cute things at Target, and even Walmart has cute stuff!! Thats all i ever cared about, i was never big on "oh my clothes are from Abercrombie" (even though some were) All i cared about was what they looked like, and if i got them at some cheap store i told people, i didnt care, just as long as they were cute!! =)

I agree! They grow too fast when they're so little. I buy a lot of my son's clothes off of ebay because I know that stuff only gets worn 3-4 times and then they've outgrown it. I have several outfits that he's never even worn before he outgrew them.

I agree.. but if you check out consignment shops or good will.. they have a lot of name brand stuff that are new... .most times people buy the stuff and the kids only wear them once or twice and they are to big for them... you can save tons of my by checking them out. Otherwise.. i wouldn't bother with name brand clothes.. they are too pricey.
