I Really Miss Rusty!

It sure isn’t the same since Rusty Wallace retired! He was my first favorite driver and although I strayed from time to time he was never far from my heart. With his colorful driving style and personality there sure was never a dull moment when he was around. I only wish he could have gotten a Daytona 500 victory before he hung it up, but it apparently wasn’t in the cards. Are there any fellow Rusty fans here? I’d like to read about your best memories of one the greatest drivers of all time.

I love his commentary too! Rusty's always had a unique way of putting things, hasn't he? He's an original. I like Tony Stewart too. Some people don't like him because they feel he has a bad attitude but that's what I like! I like drivers who are outspoken and refuse to be molded into the corporate cookie-cutter image some of the sponsors seem to want. Jimmy Spencer is practically my neighbor and I always liked his outspoken attitude too.

Yes, It's certainly not the same seeing Rusty racing out on the track every Sunday. But at least he hasn't completely left NASCAR. He makes a great commentator on ABC, definitely one of the best and is pretty much the only one that I can bare listening too besides 'ole D.W.!
Rusty was not my favorite driver because I am an Earnhardt fan. However, I have enjoyed watching him race along side Dale Earnhardt Sr. over the years. The two created some action packed races back in the day.
