Well, I have. I was in Korea for a job and at the same time studying Korean at a university language school last 2002. It was my second visit there. Someone had invited me to this bath house. She was a close friend. I've already heard of these places but I hesitated to go because it's not in my culture to bathe with other strangers - NUDE. But for the Koreans, it was completely normal and it has no malice. Of course the bath houses have generally, strictly segregated the men's bath houses to the women's. I went to one public bath house alone. I brought my soap and shampoo and then I paid. As I can remember, I think it cost me around $6 to enter the place. The receptionist directed ne to the right door. I went to the locker room and I started to undress. I felt really awkward and shy because I could see lots of women passing around me. Anyway, I gathered some courage because I wanted to get it over with as soon as possible. I wrapped a towel around my waist but I felt silly when I got inside the main bath house, everybody were nude and bathing, not minding each other. I realy felt like a foreigner. Anyway, I took a bath, entered the sauna. Dressed up and went back home.

Your experience sounds like a very interesting one. I have never had an experience of bathing in a bath house. I can see how you felt like a foreigner since everyone else felt at ease and your cultural upbringing caused you to feel ill at ease; this is very understandable. I would have felt very self-conscious, too, I am sure. Thanks for relating your very interesting experience. :)
