What's your religion? Is religion the reason of the war in the world?

I know that there are many religions in the world, but I know the name of just a few of them. However I'm not religious because I believe only in the science: I'm a materialist atheist. What's your religion? What are the main characteristics of your faith? Why do you believe in this? Is a tradition of your country? Of your family? Or are you very believer? Do you think your religion is the best in the world or are you open-mind also to other cultures? Do you think (as me) that is religion the cause of most of the world in the world? So.. why a person should believe in a thing so cruel and not kindly as it would to show?

I'm Christian, I chose this religion without my family's consent. I prefer to be one to learn more about it, I chose to go by the Bible than that of going to church and listening to hypocrites. I'm strict when it comes to practising my preferred belief, because I don't listen nor follow on what people tend to follow just because their society dictates them to do it so. My belief is of my own, without any influence from any person or money-hungry people that would mislead me with my faith. I believe that it's poverty which makes war a never-ending cycle, as long as there are those tyrants and capitaists, I believe war is envitable. All we need is love and understanding, if we could only live equally and fairly with one another..

I don't seek for proofs, as long as I have my OWN faith. You ask about religion so I gave you my answer, I prefer to go where only a few chooses to go. For reality, I know it will come and I pray that it comes near.

What you said is our dreaming world, where people cooperate with one another. The real world I think is different. Not every war, but the most are caused by religion. About the bible: did you think anytime that if another person, a writer, a day wake up and say "I want write a new religion". With a lot of fantasy every person could begin a new religion. Where is the proof that the words in the bible are true?

I call myself agnostic, not knowing. Religion has certainly not made the world a more peaceful place. The most atrocious crimes are done in the name of God. Religion as such is usually not evil but the people abusing it are. Although the OT contains some horrific stories.
