How long will old traditions live?

Old Traditions - This is a shoot during the recent Lang-ay Festival in Bontoc, Mountain Province in the Philippines. These custumes are slowly disappearing usually seen only during festivals.

Touring around my country to shoot festivals and document old traditions, it seems that many are already disappearing and the younger generations have already forgotten their ancestors' old ways. Should we let them embrace the old new ways and forget the old customs or should they keep practicing it to make them remember where they came from?

Old customs and traditions were the basis for community growth back then. It has somehow served as the unique identity to be proud of. Complications in todays new generation and the influence of other culture or let's say the superiority of another culture is I believe one big factor of an inferior culture to follow and forget its old customs. Ronin, how can you stop the mass media influence? We see it everyday. For me, we cannot stop a generation from their own choice. As long as they will not define their generation with degrading political, economic and social values, we have to respect their choice. It is their uniqueness and their own expression that will truly define them and will bring back the search and the longing for the old traditions their old folks treasured.
