Oh what a horrible day it was....

I wasn't on at all yesterday cause we had a terrible time. It all started when my mother-in-law's car broke down in the morning so my husband called in to work & didn't go to work. We got it to our house finally then had to bring over our other car for her to use. OK fine, we get that done & run errands then we have kids to pick up. We go to pick up my one nephew on early release for his mom and I can't cause she didn't put me on the list for people that are allowed to pick him up. So the office has to call her to get the OK and we eventually get the rest of the gang. We were happy & finally on our way home at 3:30 p.m. cause we usually don't head home til after 5, and not even a 1/4 of the way home, there's an utility pole down across the road to get home with live wires all over the place. They make us wait almost 2 hours before the police announce over loud speakers that the road will be closed til after midnight. I live in Hawaii on the Big Island of Hawaii and we have one two lane highway that serves as the only road for a majority of the island, so we turn around & try to see if we can head around the other side of the island to get home. Luckily, we had only our youngest girl with us but she needed diapers & milk to we had to stop for that, gas & food then drove on another route to try to get home. My husband decides to go on the road that goes over the mountain, full of curves, etc. so we can't go fast plus the road is bad. We end up with a crazy drunk guy trying to force us off the road before he overtakes our car only to be on the side of the road a few miles away, taking a pee & flipping us the bird. We get to a town to refill gas & use the bathroom but can't find one til right before we're leaving there. Four hours after we began, we finally get home, too tired to even think. Oh what a day!! To make matters worse, this morning we hear that someone was killed in the accident that brought down the pole and that the highway will be closed again to put up a new pole. Not to mention that on my way to drop off my husband at work this morning, there was a 3 car accident that held up traffic for miles again. Does it ever end???

Wow, that would be awful. At least you were warned about the road closing again. I would pack extra things just in case, although you would not thing that it would take too long to put up a pole. Hopefully your days will go better.
