why does the rainbow has only 7 colors?

have you ever wondered why is it that the rainbow has only seven colors? Do you thinks it has more that seven colors but they only chose the most prominent hue? im really wondering about this. rainbow is always close to my heart because everytime i saw one, i am reminded of Gods love....can you share anything about this?

Its due to the prism effect of rain or heavy moisture in the sky. The light from the sunlight scatters and produces the colors you see. It only has seven colors since those are the visible colors of light. Humans are unable to see infrared nor are they able to see the ultraviolet. Rainbows do not show the color white, but sometimes one is able to see brighter light nearby that did not get refracted.
