a weird question about buring wax tarts

Is it just me or do wax tarts last FOREVER? It seems I get sick of the fragrence and want to try something new before it looks like the wax has even dissapeared a little bit. This is great from an econmical standpoint, I can go through many teas lights for one tart. On average how long should a tart last? What do you do when you get tired of one scent and want to use another?

Good quality tarts do seem to last forever! If I'm tired of the scent, I'll put the whole burner in the freezer for a bit, then the tart pops out easily and I can use another scent. I then save the used tart for later. While the wax never really disappears, I do find that eventually the scent weakens. When I've been burning a tart for hours and hours and it hardly has any scent left, you can still reuse the wax- add a few drops of scented oils to create your own custom scented tarts!

yes, I also noticed that the scent fades before the wax does. Making your own sounds really fun too!

Well, thank you twilight021 for this info. I use candles and oils, I never knew that the tarts last forever. I will definitely start using them. I read other responses you got, I love the idea of using them to scent clothes bins or draws too! Take care and thanks for the discussion!

What I do when I am just sick of that wonderful smell that smelled so good when I first lite it 7 years ago (LOL) I put the ceramic in the freezer then after about 20 min I take it out an pop the wax out of the burner and then I put the wax in my clothes drawer so my clothes smell nice usually I will put it in the bins that are hodling my seasonal clothes that are stored away. If your worried about the wax dye getting on your clothes you can get a small clean margerine tub and poke a million holes in it then put the wax in then put it in the bin or storage place. -Amber

not at all a weird question. i use vegetable/soy based candles now and love that the tarts last forever. Mine pop right out after they cool and i swap them around, or mix and match them up. Plus i break up the bits of wax left in the bottom of regular (parafin) candles and mix up my own custom fragrances to keep the tarts going. i can even send you off some sample candle scents if you'd like, that way you can add them to your current tarts.. yup, i sell candles who knew1

Wax tarts do not disappear. I know yankee candle wax tarts last approximately 8 hours. When they loose their fragrance you can put your burner in the freezer after it cooled down a little leave it in there for a couple hours and then the wax will pop right out. I love wax tarts i think they are stronger then burning a candle. They also don't last as long the large jar from yankee is about 25 dollars and i get bored of the fragrance so for me wax tarts have just enough fragrance were i can change it as often as i want. With a candle you are stuck with the whole thing.

Just a thought, rather than using the whole tart just use part of it and put the remaining in a baggie for later use. I am an ex Scentsy lover and never thought about using Yankee Candle tart's so I guess I will start. Sure beat's trying to purchase something you thought you liked only to find out they changed the scents around without notifying the customers.
