I am afraid, not. It is only a solution for some.
The manufacturers see a future in going back 50 years. They restyle the old cars like the Fiat 500 or Austin Mini and sell them with a more efficient engine.
VW is working on a two seater that is using only one litre of gas. It looks like the Kabinenroller way back when, seats like on a motorcycle.
The new tiny Fiat is a big success.

yes but hybrid cars can be one of the solutions for the future but i think this is the tip of an iceberg.There are more interest not to make cars more efficient,one example (Why are hybrid cars more expensive then classic ones?)......

Yes hybrids are the solution I have one and get 45--0 mpg everyone needs to have one
