can you sue?

Is it possible to sue an HMO for malpractice or anything else if you don't have permanent injuries? For example, a nurse "forgot" to take off the tournaquet after putting in an IV, so it blew my vein and put fluid in my hand. Another example, an ER doctor "couldn't find" my records (all on a computer system) so only gave me 3mg of a medication instead of the usual 6mg dose and then discharged me from the ER in more pain and with higher blood pressure (180/118) than when I came in. Even more, I got blood poisoning from an IV done in the ER. Lastly, doctor only willing to treat pain every four days despite pain on the third day. Any information would be welcome. Do I have to suffer until something drastic happens?
