So, who else here is learning Japanese? I just began my first year at University studying a degree in Japanese language. At the moment I only know hiragana, and a few basic phrases ??????! ^ I think that means 'Pleased to meet you'? Post your experiences with learning Japanese!

Man, I need to start doing that too. Especially getting my keyboard to switch fonts. How's that done?

You need to turn on the language bar if you have Windows. I think you can do it in the regional settings in control panel, but you will need to have Japanese installed.

Bah, I knew it was something nice and brutal. Thanks for pointing it out though. I'll have to fiddle with the settings. I think Opera has something too, so I may try that.

??????!= You read it as "Hajimemashite", and is used only when meeting someone for the 1st time and don't use it to your friends. I have been studying Japanese since I was in high school in 1998-1999, and I know how to speak the language and I know how to read and write Hiragana, Katakana and the Kanji. :D
