does FACEBook mean to you as much as it seems?

Frankly, I don't visit Facebook myself, and it's only been like two weeks since i first new it. But in China we have similar website which offers a quick access to be linked with our fellows, even those we don't really know. I used to be addicted to log in and wonder through the pages to see what's going on in others' life (while, in fact, I don't see much going on), but now I frequently realise that it's quite meaningless that I idle around in these webpages and don't really communicate much with my friends. What do you do on Facebook, do you find it essential, or it is just another fad?
