Why does parents make their children believe in sta. clause?....

It sounds odd, if you haven't grown up with it, but it's a fun tradition for those of us who practice it. When kids reach a certain age, they start to figure out that he's not real, and join in on keeping the secret from the younger ones. It's like rite of passage.

Probably because they had a crummy childhood. I think if a child asks the question, be honest. But let the kids have any imiginary for as long as they can. Real life is already too long and full of pretty tough stuff.

Because, it teaches kids about the true meaning of Chrismas to Give and not recieve...It is not the actual make Believe man we actually pass on to our children, it's the spirit of giving that stays with them for life... Besides, Santa Claus does Exist, well he did along time ago. Christopher Kringle was a real rich man who Gave gifts to children who's families could not afford it every christmas. His concept of Giving, has been passed on, over the years. The eye's of children turned him into a Magical old man with a flying sliegh who lives for ever and squeezes down chimneys and its this Magical Imagination, the lives in the mind of children, and the light you see in their eyes on christmas eve and day, and see and hear the exitement they have, that makes us parents happy to see our children are still innocent

I grew up not believeing in santa clause and I fell that I missed out on so much. I want my kids to believe in him. I can not explain why.

Mine never gave me the whole santa lie in the first place. I'm glad of it.

I say that we believe him to be true and real in our hearts and how could I deny that feeling to not be real.
