What are the special occasions you celebrate by opening a bottle of champagne?

If the occasion warrants such, then break it out. That includes, Birthdays, some holidays(Thanksgiving and Christmas, if some have toasts), a raise/promotion at work, a new acquisition, buying your first home, achieving a major accomplishment, a new child, weddings, just because.

we just had a party for my moms birthday and they had a bottle of champagne..But we have it for New Years and birthdays and anniversaries...
