We have a new kitty

Some of you one here may know that I help out some strays around here. Well people here know that too. So they showed up at my door because a cat had left a litter of kittens in their shed. They plan to kill them if they couldn't find homes because they are dog people. So of course I took them. There were four of them and I found homes for three. These kitty's are I an guessing a little over two weeks old. So I picked up the formula for them and they seem to be doing a bit better. We are keeping one, we think may be a girl, hard to tell yet, and making her a new member of the family. Take a look at this tiny tot! She is so small! I hope she will make it through. We haven't gotten a name yet. Each child has picked one they like. So far there is Whiskers, Mia, and Heidi. What do you like for a name?

I don't like People names for animals. I mean, you wouldn't name your kid Fluffy would you? However, I think some names go well with animals. I think Heidi is more of a dog name than a cat name though. Mia, I don't know. It makes me think of the Princess Diaries... and with that I think Fat Louie for a cat. Finally, though Whiskers is a bit Cliche, of the names you mentioned it would be the one I'd go with.

My cat's name is Reggie Cat. So it's not like I can say much :) but like I said I think only some people names work. Mainly boys names. Plus if I know people with that name it's weird to have an animal with the same name.

I know what you mean. I know this guy with wild curl dark locks named Nico and a neighborhood dog here has wild curl black locks and his name is Nico too. Weird!

HEHEHE Our other kitties are BabyBJ, Willy, and Junior. All guys. Don't know if I would want my man to have any of those names, but then it is Howard which is pretty bad. LOL

That is so great of you to take those poor little kittens in. I am amazed though at people threatening to kill them just because they are dog people. I am alergic to cats really badly, but if a cat had kittens in my shed I would keep them in the house until we found homes for them alergies and all! Their is no excuse for inhumane people period! Ok, now that I got that off my chest (lol) out of the names you suggested I like Whiskers the best! Just my opinion anyhow. Have a great day! Love & Hugzz, Your Friend, PurpleTeddyBear!

Clayton will love that Whiskers is winning. Jessica and I haev mild allegeries to cats. We have to keep the bedding and stuff clean regularly but we are lucky it is only mild. Sorry to hear you have such a bad allergy to them. But yes people could still help them out! I was able to find homes for three of them in one night and I don't know anyone! I also could have found a fourth if I tried hard. So they could have done something. Thanks PurpleTeddyBear

I guess Clayton will be happy to hear that he's winning in the name game. As I said my allergies are VERY bad for cats, but I would help out any animal allergies or not if I could. I think their are too many people think that because "it's just an animal" it's life doesn't have as much significance. Those people are SO wrong and the kind of people you'd like to shake senseless. You are a very good person to take in these strays. I couldn't bear the thought of someone killing animals, just because they didn't want them. You are teaching your children kindness and caring. We call our cat Kipsey.

My daughter picked the name when she was about 7. We had big difficulties on how to spell it one day at the vet! She is definately MY biggest baby.

Wow, this was really a very good deed of you Vicky, my repect for it :) and it's really heart warming to know that there are people like yourself ;) These kitties have met their angel(s), and am so happy that you found homes for them too. if you keep a girl kitty than I like Mia the most, but whatever you decide will be fine with the baby kitten I guess :) TheFortunes

Thank you so much for your sweet words. I am not too worried myself about the name yet. Just making sure they are healthy and getting everything they need is what is important. They need lots of care because there is no mom. But so far they are all doing good which makes us all feel pretty darn good. Thanks thefortunes!

How cute is your kitten, so sweet looking and so tiny. That was very nice of you to save all of the kittens. I would do the same thing. My cat followed me home when he was a kitten so what else could I do, but keep him. Good luck with the little kitty.:)

What a cute little kitty. I had a cat once that looked like that and he was such a great cat. He was named D*ck after D*ck Tracy as that movie was a hit at the time I got him. I am so happy that there are people like you in the world that rescues little souls like these. Too many people treat animals like they are nothing when they can give so much love and comfort.

Ms. Ellie on her cushion - Our cat Ellie. She is our year old female and has 4 other cat siblings and 2 big dogs that share her life with my hubby and me.
Ahhhhh...how wonderful it is to hear that there are people like you and your family our there. I cannot fathom people who devalue animal life with a threat of ending their lives. I went down to your comments to your first response and saw your attached photo...what a cutie pattootie. We have a gray female named Ellie plus 4 other cats. I have included a photo of Ellie as the avid cat lover I am and because your sweet baby looks gray as well. Comments are always welcome! When I saw the photo of your sweet little kitty the firs thing that came to my mind was how precious your kitty is. So if she were mine I'd probably call her precious because she sure appears to be!I truly commend you on your loving acts towards these orphans. I hope the good you are doing comes back...big time! Here's Looking at You...Our Gray Cat Chakra - This photo is of our 2 year old gray male cat Chakra who left home and never came back. We still miss him and wonder where he went...and why he left. Good to have photographs to remember him by. Thankfully we have 5 cats who are with us!
Yes I do know...what you are talking about. I read somewhere that we don't choose the cats...they choose us. Sounds like your 'precious' little gray one knew where it belongs. Thanks for your comments about Ellie..we think she is cute too (but they all are)and is very loving and purrs sooooo loud. I am enclosing an image of another gray male cat we had named Chakra. He went out and never came back one day...and I still wonder what happened. It is hard when you don't know. Anyway, thanks for sharing your special animals stories...I am a real softy for pet tales and images...as you can probably tell. Good luck with your naming of your special new furry family member! Raia

Ellie is just so adorable! Our first three boys are all gray too. I think we are drawn to them. When we got the 4 kittens I kinda knew right away that the only gray one would be staying with us. And sure enough she was the last one here. It is like I just knew when I saw her "yup, you are one of us!" Sounds silly but as a fellow animal lover I'm sure you know what I am talking about. HEHE
