Does anyone know what 'My Lot' actually means? My... Lottery? Lotto? Lotion? Where did this name originate from? I ask, because it's such an odd little name that doesn't really roll off the tongue very well, but it still seems to be a very popular site...

I don't know if anyone knows how or where the name came from, but my guess is quite logical. In England and in many other countries, a "lot" is a block of land. In Australia this usually refers to a building block - an "allotment" on which a house or other building is built. In England a "lot" is often a small parcel of land in a communal vegetable garden. If my guess is correct, myLot is an apt name. It is our little piece of the net where we can occupy and build.

Hmm, that sounds like a good explanation. Let's stick with that then :P
