Sting is the TNA World Champ, thoughts?

What do you all think of Sting becoming the TNA Champ for the 1st time ever? I didn't include his previous title at Bound for Glory because it wasn't the TNA Title, it was the NWA World Title. I don't think it's a bad thing, it will just depend on how it is used exactly. I don't think he'll get another run as he is rumored to be retiring at the end of the year. I believe it was reported sometime earlier in the year and whether or not it happens is another story. If he is to go out, who do you want to see getting the belt off of him in the 1st place? Personally, I think I'd like to see Joe get it 'cause he's not had that chance to be the top guy in TNA and it should be a clean victory. I know that's a hard concept to grasp for a Main Event but it's necessary and would be fitting as a passing of the torch type deal. I believe his legacy will go down unless it changes just like that will be the guy that never went to the WWE in the 1st place. He won't be getting another run on top like I said and it has more to do with the fact he's not exactly the youngest guy on the roster. I'll give him credit, he can still go. I wonder if Sting got it partly due to the arrest report on Kurt Angle for DUI. I think so but I don't know how much exactly. What are your thoughts on this?

TNA is getting old. Nash is OLD. Angle is old. Sting is old. I am not exactly against Sting winning it because it was kind of a "Thanks for helping us" thing from TNA but it is time to make new stars not rehash old ones. Move away from Angle, Sting, and especially Nash and onto Joe who is so credible and so over. I agree it is time for Joe to win cleanly and to wrestle the younger guys. Time for stars to be elevated and made. I appreciate Sting and what he did for the business. I worked with Sting in WCW and he was a jerk but he has changed. And even when he was a jerk, he was good for business. Nash, I can't stand. He is an arrogant ratings killer. But anyway... I think Sting should pass the torch to Joe and Joe should hold it for a while as he establishes himself as top tier. I still like Christian and like seeing him in the top tier. Angle should be putting guys over now (especially in light of the DUI incident) and Sting can have his last hurrah and then move on. I prefer Sting to many others at this point (like Disco Inferno and Jeff Jarrett, ACK!) but I do believe it is time to focus on the younger guys and make them big stars. WWE is making the same mistake by bringing HBK back (who I adore) as their top guy now that Cena is out. They have to make stars not rehash them. I love Shawn but his slot could have been given to an up and coming star. I have rambled enough. lol.

I agree. Though Nash hasn't really been wrestling a lot. I figured he was on his way to retirement or something to that effect. I've noticed he's injured whenever he gets scheduled for a match. I attribute that to getting old. Didn't know you worked with Sting in WCW. I remember watching them during the whole Monday Night Wars time and before it. Disco Inferno I don't see him doing much anyway to tell you the truth and Jarrett I don't expect to see anytime soon. It is time to go with younger talent and see what they can do. Angle could do well in helping talent out if they let him do so. Ratings won't increase unless TNA puts on the show people want to see. I really don't think any name can come in and boost ratings up.

Nash isn't wrestling but he is a big part of the Angle/Sting storyline and did jackknife Angle. He looks so old and broken. I think if Jericho came to TNA that would create a buzz. He is the only guy (besides the Rock) that would really create some mainstream/WWE fan interest in TNA, IMO. I suppose a cameo or two by Hogan would create a short term buzz but isn't the answer. TNA has many talented people. They just have to give them the ball. Plus the X-Division is amazing and the emphasis has been taken off them. It needs to go back to them because they set TNA apart from WWE. Paul Heyman needs to come in and do the writing. RVD would be nice to see in TNA as well.
