Do the celebrities ever check the product's quality before advertising it?

We find my celebraties recomanding many products. Theyt ofcourse are paid for it. However, do they ever check if the quality of the product they are advertising is okay or not? Even do they check what statement they are making during advertising is correct/fair or not?
