Keeping It Consistant

I am writing a book, but found it hard to keep characters and places etc consistent. To solve this problem, I have started writing profiles on these things and I'm finding that it is really working. You could say that there is going to be a companion guide to go with the book. I would love to hear how other people have over come the perils of keeping their writing consistent.

This is actually a very good tip, newzealtralian =) As for me, I tried starting to write one waay before and what I did was to write a major outline of what the story was about, ie chapters and main events. That way I have an overview of my story and have something to base my work on... Keeping profiles would definitely be a major help and not to mention make things more organized...btw, you can also check out http://www.onestopwriteshop.com it's a site that helps out writers and has great online classes as well...=)

Thanks. I have a general feel for how my story will go, but just writing sections and then getting them to flow together. I find the profiles are really helpful. Ok, so my writing folder is a mess, but at least it is all there and I am slowly putting it together. I also want the profiles just in case I want my book to be a series. That way I can keep it consistent through the whole series. I will definitely have to check that website out though. Thanks, I need all the help I can get! LOL.
